Īmong the portable finds discovered during last year’s excavations, one of the most interesting is a circular clay tablet with a Linear A ideogram, depicting a warrior with a shield The hypostyle hall, dated to the 14th-13th centuries BC, covered an area of at least 200 square meters. Last year’s excavations focused on the remains of a large, hypostyle hall (its roof was supported by columns), which archaeologists believe may have served as a public space for administrative or religious activity. Most recently, excavations by the Ephorate of Antiquities of Hania in October and November 2022 came one step closer to confirming the existence of a vast palace complex that once dominated the area in the 14th and 13th centuries BC, the political center of the ancient city-state of Kydonia in the Minoan and Creto-Mycenaean periods. It would’ve been impossible for The Skrulls to keep up appearances for a long period of time so, yes, Fury and Hill would’ve been themselves during The Avengers and so forth.Later, archaeologists made the discovery of an extensive sacrificial site on the hill, where, in addition to the huge number of animal remains, were the bones of a young woman possible evidence of a human sacrifice to appease the gods, carried out after the devastating earthquake of the 13th century BC. Taking all of that into account, we have every belief that Maria Hill is indeed very real. Conclusion – Is Maria Hill A Real Person In The MCU? According to MCU Fandom page, Skirmish in Ixtenco, when this event occurred it was actually Talos and Soren, not their human counterparts as both were off-world. It’s always fun to speculate but only time will tell where Maria is and whether Fury’s new pet project is S.W.O.R.D.Īnother question we need to ask ourselves is if it’s really Hill and by extension, Fury in Mexico at the beginning of Far from Home. So far, there’s been no confirmation that Hill is associated with S.W.O.R.D or that the space station is what we assume it is. Perhaps, she was recruited by the FBI and is on an assignment with Jimmy Woo. Since S.H.I.E.L.D is now obsolete due its links with H.Y.D.R.A, it’s perfectly understandable as to why Fury wouldn’t want his new organization to be associated to the old corrupt one. So, where could she be? If we had to guess, she might have been on a secret mission for Fury and S.W.O.R.D. The post-credit scene doesn’t even reference her. We learn in the post-credit scene of Far from Home that, during the whole Mysterio crisis in Europe, Fury was on the S.W.O.R.D space station… but Maria wasn’t with him. As far as we know, her appearance at Iron Man’s funeral was actually her and not Soren. One thing we need to question is where Hill was eight months after Tony Stark’s death. Jackson and Cobie Smulders in Columbia Pictures’ SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME. However, Hogan might not have known Fury and Hill that well to notice that something was off with them. Though, Happy didn’t seem to pick up on this when he met up with them. Soren had adopted all of Maria’s mannerisms in order to take on her persona, though she did slip up when she called her husband (as Fury) out for having doubts about Mysterio. While it’s not actually explained, it’s possible that only she is allowed to address him as such, though the reasoning behind this is could be as simple as Fury trusting Hill more than anyone else.Īlso, he and Hill would have to be fairly close for this to occur. Though, Hill refers to him as Nick in every film she has appeared with him in. “Nick.”Īnother point that Captain Marvel addresses is that Fury has always been known by his last name and never by anything else. Now, if Hill wasn’t a real person, she wouldn’t have been able to take on that persona and therefore, she would not have appeared in the Spider-Man: Far from Home post-credit scene.
